At the last minute they told us at work that the office would be closed on Christmas Eve day, but with a catch! We could use our PTO time or we could “go negative.”
Now, I’m ALREADY negative with Christmas so this is kind of spooky.
Not that I dont love spending more time at home, but I dont accrue my PTO as fast as others because I’ve only been there under one year, so if I get sick before “re-cooping” it, I’ll have to go unpaid.
I dont know what what will happen with New Year’s Eve but it’s possible that they might give us the time off “on the company,” like they did for the day after Thanksgiving. Crossing my fingers.
I need to start saving my PTO in the new year and treating it like a savings account that I can walk away with when I leave.
